Farm City Week Nov. 10-16, 2024: Our Community Counts On Our Farmers

Autauga County Commission Chairman Jay Thompson andVice-Chairman John Thrailkill were honored to join state and local electedofficials, and community leaders from Autauga County, Autaugville andPrattville, at HomePlace Farm for a proclamation ceremony, proclaimingNovember10-16, 2024, Farm City Week in Autauga County and Prattville.  This year's theme is "Our Community Counts On Our Farmers". 

“Agriculture and farming have always created a strongeconomy throughout the Autauga County region, from providing food for ourtable, fiber for clothing, and timber grown in Autauga County is used by localindustries including International Paper and United Forestry Products. Also, JamesHardie, counts on our rich soils. The economic impact is evident both locallyand on a global scale,” said Chairman Jay Thompson. “This is a week to honorand celebrate the farmers and their families who make Autauga County an evenbetter place for us all.” 

For the past 40 years, the PrattvilleArea Chamber of Commerce Farm City Committee has brought ourcommunities together every year to celebrate our local farmers and theimportance of agriculture as the foundation of our local economy!  Theweek-long celebration will end with the Annual Farm City Banquet being held onThursday, November 14th from 6-8 PM in Autaugville at the R.H.Kirkpatrick Arena. 

Everyone is invited to come enjoy this evening celebrationhonoring the rich agricultural heritage of Autauga County and our communities.This family fun filled night also includes a delicious steak dinner prepared byKaren Tucker Catering.
