Alabama's Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, Feb. 23- Feb. 25

Alabama’s 13th Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, and ends at midnight on Sunday, February 25, 2024This event allows citizens to purchase certain severe weather preparedness supplies free of state sales or use tax(local sales and use tax may apply). The Autauga County Commission unanimously passed Resolution 10-22-2012 to annually participate in the Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. 

During this time, residents are encouraged to stock up tax-free on common supplies costing less than $60 that every home and business needs to prepare for a natural disaster or even a general emergency. Generators costing $1,000 or less can also be purchased free of the state's four-percent sales tax during the three-day tax holiday. To see a complete list of tax-free items CLICK HERE.
