| Dec. 13th, Heart Of Alabama Food Bank Mobile Pantry Program Distributes Food to Autauga County |

| Autauga County, AL – Our partners with the Alabama Alabama Food Bank Mobile Pantry Program will be distributing nutritious food to families in need in Autauga County On December 13, 2023 from 9:30-11:30 AM at the Old Kingston Missionary Baptist Church, 963 Alternate Rte County Rd 40 W, Prattville, AL 36067. This Mobile Food Pantry is hosted by Old Kingston Outreach, one of the Heart of Alabama Food Bank’s (HAFB) over 200 partner agencies, serving as a primary means of providing food to historically underserved areas. HAFB loads a tractor-trailer with food and will deliver it to a desired location to be distributed. The potential impact of this Autauga County Mobile Food Pantry is 20,000 meals provided to 300 families. "Food Insecurity is something that no person should have to worry about. The Autauga County Commission is proud to support the Heart of Alabama Food Bank and thanks them for working to help alleviate this issue in the Autauga County community, especially during the holiday season, by providing food to those in need and families in crisis", said Chairman Jay Thompson, Autuaga County Commission.  About the Heart of Alabama Food Bank (HAFB) The Heart of Alabama Food Bank (HAFB), formally the Montgomery Area Food Bank, was established in 1986. The organization became a certified affiliate of Feeding America in 1989 and works with our state association, Feeding Alabama. The mission of HAFB is to source, acquire, and distribute nutritious food to those experiencing hunger and food insecurity throughout our region so that families, seniors, and children can thrive.Last year alone, HAFB distributed 27 million pounds of food, or 22.4 million meals, to the 35 counties served and is on track to distribute even more in the coming years. HAFB provides food to our service area by working with over 200 partner agencies that serve people through various programs. |
