Autauga County Master Gardeners Are Looking for Volunteers!

The Autauga County Master Gardener Volunteer Program is an educational program offered through county offices of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Master Gardeners are adults of all ages who love gardening and who have previous gardening experience. Through the program, individuals are trained and certified in horticulture and related areas. These individuals, in turn, volunteer their expertise and services to help others through horticultural projects that benefit the community. The Master Gardener Program trains volunteers, who work through Extension, to bring the latest horticultural information and practices from the world of research to their communities’ landscapes and gardens. Through the Master Gardener program, thousands of people in the United States and Canada have been trained as volunteers.

The Master Gardener training program is taught once a week over a 12 week period in the Spring. A $125 registration fee is charged to cover the cost of the training manual and supplies. Classes are from February to the middle of May from 9 AM until 2 PM at the Autauga County Extension office in Autaugaville. For more specific dates and times, please contact the Autauga County Extension office at (334) 361-7273.
