Town of Autaugaville, Autauga County Commission and Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce Join State and Community Leaders to Celebrate NEW Senior Center Groundbreaking in Autaugaville

Officials from the Town of Autaugaville join representatives from ADECA, CARPDC, ADSS, as well as other government officials to break ground for the new senior center.

           

AUTAUGAVILLE, Ala. – Today, officials from the Town of Autauga of Autaugaville, the Autauga County Commission and the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce joined local officials, community individuals, and representatives from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), the Alabama Department of Senior Services(ADSS), and the Central Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission(CARPDC) for a groundbreaking in celebration of a new senior center. This facility will be located at 2407 Dutch Bend Street in Autaugaville, across the street from the current senior center.

Town of Autaugaville Mayor Curtis Stoudemire joined Senator Clyde Chambliss, Representative Kelvin Lawrence, Autauga County Commission Chairman Jay Thompson, Probate Judge Kim Kervin, ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell, ADSS Commissioner Jean Brown, and CARPDC Executive Director Greg Clark on stage for program remarks.


We are thankful we are here today,” said Mayor Stoudemire. “Today has been a long time coming, but through prayers, [faith], and hard work… today has come to provision.


ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell addresses the audience. 

“On behalf of Governor Kay Ivey, I am certainly happy to be back in Autaugaville,” stated ADECA Director Boswell. “Our senior citizens [are] wells of wisdom… To our seniors that are here, thank you for what you’ve done and thank you for what you are going to do in our future.”

ADSS Commissioner Brown address the audience. 

ADSS Commissioner Brown said, “It is so vitally important to our seniors that you be able to gather… We do value our senior adults for everything they contribute to our society.”

Thank you to everyone for coming out to support the senior center groundbreaking – a positive addition to Autauga County and the city of Autaugaville! We look forward to the completion of this project in the spring of 2023.
