**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** Autauga County Engineering Department 511 W. 4th Street, Prattville, AL 36067 T: (334) 361-3671 Autauga County Road Closure: CR 40 Between Davies Road and KH Road for Culvert Pipe Replacement Autauga County, AL - In our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and integrity of our local roadways, the Autauga County Engineer’s office has identified a culvert pipe located on County Road 40 between Davies Road and KH Road that is structurally deficient. Currently, the culvert pipe is not posing an immediate threat; however, we are proceeding with this critical repair work because the existing culvert pipe has deteriorated to a level where it can no longer be adequately repaired. Weather Permitting, the Autauga County Engineer’s office will close this section of road beginning November 18, 2024, and will remain closed for approximately 5 weeks. Closure Details: · Start Date: November 18, 2024 · End Date: December 23. 2024 · Detour Route: County Road 59 and US-31 will serve as the dedicated detour for this project. (maps shown below) The replacement of the culvert pipe is an essential measure to prevent potential roadway failure, which could pose serious hazards to drivers and residents in the area. Our team of engineers has assessed the culvert pipe and determined that its replacement is imperative before any catastrophic failure occurs. We ask for the public's understanding and cooperation during this period as we work diligently to complete the repairs as quickly and safely as possible.
