Autauga County, AL- The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, Autauga County Commission and the Town of Pine Level celebrated the announcement and groundbreaking for lighted ballfields at Pine Level Park last Saturday. “This area has waited for around 12 years for this. We have one ball field for around 19 teams in the fastest growing area in Autauga County. The new Pine Level Park gives hope to our community and to our future, ”Pine Level Mayor Zachary Bigley said. Local kids along with state and elected officials helped to break ground for the monumental event Saturday morning, where in the near future, the children of Pine Level will be playing and building new memories and a sense of community on the very grounds of the newly constructed park. Among those elected officials to help break ground were State Representatives Jerry Starnes and Van Smith, Autauga County Commissioner and Chairman Jay Thompson, Commissioner Bill Tatum and Commissioner Larry Stoudemire, Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley, Pine Level Mayor Bigley and president of the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce Patty VanderWal, among many others. “This park is where families will be spending time together. Good memories will be made. Cheers, victories, life lessons and hanging out with friends. This ballpark will help create a community,” Bigley said.
Bigley then went on to thank the Autauga County Commissioners, and all the partners that helped make the project for Pine Level a reality. Some of the partners to turn this into a reality are the Central Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission (CARPDC), the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), the Land and Water Conservation Fund as well as the Mid-South RC&D Council. The park will be completed in the Fall of 2024. |
