Autauga County Commission Joins Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Prattville to Celebrate PALS Spring Clean Up

PRATTVILLE, Ala. – The Autauga County Commission will join the City of Prattville, Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce and Autauga County PALS on Wednesday, April 20, to promote Spring Clean Up. This ceremony will begin at 3:00 P.M. at the Prattville Chamber office, located at 131 North Court Street in Historic Downtown Prattville. 

Autauga County Commission Chairman Jay Thompson and City of Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr. will recognize county and city employees who work diligently to keep the community clean. 

“When our communities are free of trash and litter, others can immediately see our sense of community pride and that Autauga County is a great place to live", said Autauga County Commission Chairman Jay Thompson. 

The Prattville Chamber and local officials will also highlight the annual Bob Lee Spring Clean Up, which is scheduled for Saturday, April23. To get litter bags for participation, please visit the Prattville Chamber office or call the Autauga County PALS at 334.850.7153. 

Mayor Gillespie said, “It’s very important to remember to respect America’s natural beauty. People started litter and people can end litter. I hope everyone takes advantage of this Spring Clean Up opportunity.” 

Volunteers can tie bagged litter and leave it in the right-of-way for pickup by county and city litter crews. All volunteers should report cleanups to Alabama PALS at alpals.org.  

“Keeping Autauga County litter-free takes all of us, that’s why the Autauga County Commission encourages everyone to participate in the Autauga County PALS annual spring event. Thank you, PALS, for challenging us all to become better stewards of our environment and community,” said Chairman Thompson. 

Spring Clean Up has been a statewide event in Alabama since 1987.Churches, businesses, schools, civic groups, families and individuals are encouraged to participate every year.
