Alabama's Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holidaybegins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, and ends at midnighton Sunday, February 22, 2025. This event allows our residents topurchase certain severe weather preparedness supplies free of state sales oruse tax.
During this time, residents are encouraged tostock up tax-free on common supplies costing less than $60 that every home andbusiness needs to prepare for a natural disaster or even a general emergency.Generators costing $1,000 or less can also be purchased free of the state'sfour-percent sales tax during the three-day tax holiday. The Autauga CountyCommission unanimously passed Resolution in January 2013 to annuallyparticipate in the Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday.
