7/23/2025

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 23, 2025

Autaugaville, AL — Last night, the community ofAutaugaville gathered to celebrate an exciting milestone—the official unveilingof the final Autaugaville Park plan, developed in partnership with hosts Alabama Chapter of the American Planning Association (ALAPA), CPAT volunteers and the Central Alabama Regional Planning Commission (CARPDC). This comprehensive vision for the park reflects the collective voice and spirit of our residents, aiming to create a better, safer, and more enjoyable greenspace for all.

The unveiling follows a highly successful community-wide event that was held at the town park on March 22, 2025. During that day, community leaders and residents actively engaged in activities and discussions, providing valuable insights to the planning team about how the park is used and what features they envisioned for future updates. The event was a testament to the community’s dedication to shaping a park that truly serves its people.

Based on community feedback and observations, key enhancements include the construction of a complete walking trail loop to improve accessibility and enjoyment, as well as relocating the playground area toward the front of the park to enhance safety and visibility. These improvements are designed to make the park more inviting and secure for families, walkers, and visitors. and are a first steps to taking the park to a whole new level.

“We are grateful to our residents for their enthusiasm and participation,” said Mayor Curtis Stoudamire, “Together, we’re working to transform Autaugaville Park into a space that embodies the community’s spirit and fosters connection and recreation for generations to come.”

Residents are encouraged to review the finalized plan and stay engaged by attending upcoming city council meetings, where further discussions and developments will take place. Your involvement is vital inbringing this vision to life.

Let’s continue working together to make Autaugaville Park a truly special and memoriable place for everyone!
