Central Alabama Community College Breaks Ground on Center of Excellence for Innovation and Technology in Autauga County, Prattville

AUTAUGA COUNTY, PRATTVILLE, AL— June 25, 2025—Central Alabama CommunityCollege (CACC) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at its Prattville campus tomark the start of construction on their new Center of Excellence forInnovation and Technology.

College leaders, state and local elected officials, industrypartners, and community leaders throughout the region attended the event, whichsignals a major step forward in expanding access to workforce training andhands-on education in high-demand fields.

CACC President Jeff Lynn spoke during the ceremony,emphasizing the impact this new facility will have on students and the broadercommunity.

“This center will give our students the tools and trainingthey need to step confidently into the workforce,” Lynn said. “It also supportslocal economic growth by connecting education directly to industry needs.”

The Center of Excellence for Innovation and Technology isdesigned to serve students and regional employers by providing modern labs,collaborative workspaces, and programs tailored to evolving job markets. Oncecomplete, it will enhance the college’s ability to prepare graduates forimmediate employment and long-term career success.
