Alabama's Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holliday 2023Alabama’s Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday 2023 will begin Friday, February 24, 2023 and will continue through Sunday, February 26, 2023. This event gives citizens an opportunity to purchase certain severe weather preparedness supplies free from state sales or use tax (local sales and use tax may apply). The Autauga County Commission unanimously passed Resolution #2013-01 on January 9, 2013 to annually participate in the Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday. This year, the holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. (CST) on Friday, February 24, 2023 and ends at midnight on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Some of the tax-free items are common supplies costing less than $60 that can be used to prepare for a natural disaster or other emergencies. To see a complete list of tax free items click here.
